Masters of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy (La Trobe University)
Hugh graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Sydney in 2012 and subsequently completed a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2014. In 2023, Hugh graduated from La Trobe University with a Masters of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy
Throughout these advanced studies, Hugh gained practical experiences with the Subiaco Lions Football Club, Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) and the Victorian Cricket Team, refining his skills in sports physiotherapy. A career highlight included being a part of the medical team for the World Cross Country Championships in Bathurst which required a collaborative approach with other medical staff to ensure the safe management of athletes in extreme weather conditions.
Hugh’s professional interests lie in running-related injuries, load management, and lower limb tendinopathy. As a passionate sports enthusiast, he has a love for athletics, cricket, cycling, and AFL. His interest in sport extends beyond his professional life, having represented Australia in cross country as a junior and being a part of the elite international fields of the Chicago Marathon and Gold Coast Marathon, running 2:20 and 2:16 respectively.
Hugh is eager to bring his knowledge gained from his studies as well from his experiences as an athlete to West Coast Health and looks forward to helping athletes achieve their goals through an evidence-based approach.
