Arthritis

Arthritis is a term covering multiple conditions that affect the joints, encompassing the muscles, bones and soft tissue structures. The two most common types are Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Some common symptoms include:

  • Joint pain and stiffness

  • Reduced function

  • Redness and warmth

Although there is no cure for arthritis, the symptoms of the condition can be managed successfully with physiotherapy. Some of the treatments our physiotherapists offer include exercises aimed to improve strength, reduce stiffness, increases cardiovascular fitness and education on protecting the joint and pain relieving strategies. All of these treatments aim to increase your function and quality of life.

At West Coast Health we aim to coach people to get back in charge of their joints and their health.
